Victorious Liberec: A Place That Simply Brings Out the Best in Us

Image

Spartan Liberec | August 15, 2026

There are races you arrive at, run, collect your medal, and go home. And then there are places you gradually build a special connection with. Places where you love to race, where you enjoy coming back, and where everything just seems to click.

For us, Liberec is exactly that kind of place.

Last year, we finished 3rd among the STG teams in the Spartan Beast here. This year, we came back — and once again, Liberec showed us that it seems to bring out the best in us.

This time, we made it all the way to the top.

1st place among the STG teams in the Super and 2nd place in the Sprint.

A fantastic result and an even better day in a setting that has everything a Spartan Race should have.

Spartan in Stunning Nature

There is something about Liberec that cannot be described simply by numbers, kilometres, or the number of obstacles.

It is the surroundings.

Beautiful nature, hills, forests, and terrain that simply belongs to Spartan.

These are exactly the kinds of courses I love. To me, Spartan is not just about getting from point A to point B as quickly as possible. It is a combination of running, strength, technique, concentration, and the ability to adapt to whatever the course throws at you.

And on top of all that, Liberec had a fantastic atmosphere. The energy of the racers, supporters, and the entire event area is exactly what makes you look forward to days like this.

And then there is only one thing left to do.

Stand on the start line.

Super: Victory Among the STG Teams

Image

The first race of the day was the Spartan Super.

A longer course means you have to manage your energy wisely. You cannot simply go all-out from the start. You need to maintain your pace, handle the terrain, and above all, stay focused on the obstacles.

Your mind can make a huge difference.

As fatigue builds and your heart rate rises, just a few seconds of lost concentration can cost you on an obstacle. That is why I always try to reset myself for a moment before the more technical challenges.

Breathe. Focus. Obstacle. Keep moving.

This time, everything came together exactly as it should.

And at the finish line, we had something truly special to celebrate:

1st place among the STG teams in the Spartan Super!

After finishing third in last year’s Beast, we had now climbed all the way to the top step of the podium in Liberec.

Victorious Liberec.

This time, the title really does fit.

And It Wasn’t Over Yet – The Sprint Was Waiting

Image

Our day did not end with the Super.

We still had the Spartan Sprint ahead of us.

A shorter course, but certainly not an easier one. Quite the opposite. The Sprint is fast and intense, and every mistake can make a difference. And when you already have one race in your legs, your body is very quick to remind you that this is not your first start of the day.

Despite that, we managed to make it onto the podium once again.

2nd place among the STG teams in the Sprint.

Another fantastic moment after our victory in the Super.

Two races. Two podiums. One victory.

You simply have to enjoy a day like that.

3 – 2 – 1. Liberec Just Seems to Suit Us

When we look back at our results in Liberec over the past two years, they form a pretty nice sequence:

2025 – Beast – 3rd place among the STG teams
2026 – Sprint – 2nd place among the STG teams
2026 – Super – 1st place among the STG teams

3 – 2 – 1.

We probably could not have planned it any better.

Of course, there is no magic behind these results. There is training, preparation, experience, recovery, and a huge amount of work that nobody sees on race day.

But there is something else behind them too.

The team.

Training Isn’t the Only Thing That Makes Us Stronger

Image

This is where I would like to thank our entire team.

Not just for the results, the kilometres, or the obstacles we have overcome together. But most importantly for the way you support one another and stand by each other.

Because to me, a team is not just a group of people wearing the same jersey.

You discover the true strength of a team when things are not going well. When someone is running out of energy. When doubts creep in, an obstacle goes wrong, or the day simply does not go according to plan.

That is when it means so much to know that someone is standing beside you.

Someone who encourages you. Someone who reminds you why you started. Someone who celebrates your success just as sincerely as their own.

Every athlete who feels the support of their team becomes stronger and more resilient.

Image

And I do not mean only physically.

Their mental resilience grows. Their confidence grows. So does their willingness to keep fighting when things start to hurt — and their ability to get back up after failure and try again.

An individual result may have one name next to it at the finish line.

But the journey behind that result is rarely the achievement of just one person.

That is something we should never forget.

The Result Is the Reward. The Team Means So Much More.

A podium is great. A victory is even better.

But trophies and medals eventually end up sitting on a shelf. What days like these give us goes far beyond that.

Shared experiences. Emotions. Difficult moments overcome together. The joy at the finish line. And the people we shared it all with.

Liberec 2026 gave us plenty of all of that.

Beautiful nature. A fantastic atmosphere. Two races. Two podiums.

Super – 1st place among the STG teams.
Sprint – 2nd place among the STG teams.

But this time, I do not want to dedicate the ending only to the results table.

I want to dedicate it to all of you who make up our team.

Thank you for your energy, your support, our training sessions together, the joy we share, and all those moments when you help one another through the tougher times.

Keep being there for each other. Because a strong individual can achieve a lot. But a strong team can achieve so much more.

Thanks to Our Partners

A special thank you also goes to our partners, who support us on our journey and help us continue doing what we love.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We truly appreciate your support.

Next Stop? Spartan Lipno!

Liberec is behind us, but our Spartan journey this year is not over yet.

On October 10, Spartan Lipno is waiting for us.

And this time, I may be looking forward to it even more. The whole team is going.

Of course, I am excited about the course, the obstacles, and everything Lipno has in store for us. But the longer I race, the more I realise that results and medals are not what matter most.

What matters are the moments you share with the people who are on this journey with you.

Travelling together. The nerves before the start. Encouraging each other on the course. Waiting at the finish line for the others. Celebrating every completed race. And in the end, creating memories that last much longer than any number in a results table.

That is why I am really looking forward to Lipno.

As an athlete, because I want to experience that unique energy on the course once again.

As a coach, because there is nothing better than watching my athletes and the whole team push beyond their own limits, support one another, and make their way to the finish line together.

And also as a Spartan Ambassador, because I am proud to be part of a community that brings people together, pushes boundaries, and shows us that we are often capable of much more than we think.

But most of all, I am looking forward to one thing:

being there together as a team.

Liberec brought out the best in us.
Now Lipno is waiting.

What about you? Will we see you at Lipno on October 10?
