I see discipline as an enormous source of strength and power.
My whole life I’ve observed people. I’ve watched those who are the most successful—the ones I try to learn from. For a long time, I asked myself what they all have in common.
The answer was surprisingly simple.
Discipline.
And that’s the incredible part—discipline is not something that limits you.
On the contrary.
Discipline gives you stability, a pillar to lean on, calmness, and joy in life.
Sleep sets everything in the human body. Recovery, hormones, mental state, performance, health.
It’s up to you how seriously you take it.
The body responds best to regularity. Going to bed and waking up at consistent times gives your body clear signals—and it rewards you for that.
Learning to go to bed regularly, ideally before midnight, is training.
Nothing happens overnight. It’s a process.
If you want to go deeper into this topic, I recommend the book The Circadian Code, which explains in a very clear way how crucial our circadian rhythm is.
Another thing that has a huge impact on quality of life is alcohol.
Limit it.
Ideally, almost eliminate it.
Alcohol doesn’t just ruin your evening.
It messes up the entire next day:
And then it drags on with you. One day, two days, sometimes even longer.
Discipline means being honest about what takes more from you than it gives back.
Another major issue of modern times is streaming platforms—like Netflix and others.
How many people today go to bed:
Just because of “one more episode.”
The result?
Go to bed before midnight.
You’ll have a much better life.
This isn’t moralizing.
This is simply how the body works.
I see discipline very strongly in food as well.
Eating quality food:
Food sets processes in the body.
It’s not just about calories.
If you’ve had poor eating habits your whole life, that’s okay.
It can be changed.
But again—it’s training. Like everything else.
There’s one idea I really want to highlight.
Being tough is not training when you feel like it.
Real grit is going to train:
That’s discipline in practice.
That’s how character is built.
A regular routine:
Creates massive changes:
I know this from personal experience.
For half my life, I was late everywhere.
Elementary school, high school. Constant rushing, stress, chaos.
I learned to change that.
I learned to be on time.
To be present.
To stop living in constant stress and cortisol.
And calmness gives you far more joy in life than constant pressure ever will.
Take this article as a mantra.
As a thought you can return to.
The question isn’t whether it’s possible.
The question is:
Do you want to learn and change the things that are wrong?
Or will you say: I can’t, it’s impossible, excuses…
How you approach it is up to you.
If this text:
of even one single person,
it has done its job.
And I’ll be satisfied.
